Sunwarrior Protein – Is It Really A Warrior Protein? Explained Here

Sun Warrior was discovered in 2008 with the goal of “creating the best plant-based proteins and superfood supplements possible.”

They have various fascinating products, including some for digestive health, others for immunity, and a greens powder that we’ve tried, but their Warrior Blend is one of their most well-known protein supplements.

It's vegan and has goji berries for added nutrition. Still, one of the selling points is that it contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) in the form of coconut, which gives you a tremendous increase in energy and restoration.

Let’s take a look at the ingredients:

Does sunwarrior protein have heavy metals?
  • Natural Sources of Protein: Fermented yellow peas, Brown Rice Protein, Hemp Seed Meal, Coconut, Goji berry
  • Natural Sources of Amino Acids: Pea Protein Isolate, Chia Seed Powder, Brown Rice Protein Isolate
  • Amino Acid Profile: L-Leucine (5g), Isoleucine (5g), L-Valine (5g), L-Glutamine (3.5g)
  • These are all high-quality protein sources, with the most significant protein source coming from fermented yellow peas.

Flavours and Protein amount

Sunwarrior protein powder comes in different flavours: natural (unflavored), chocolate, vanilla, berry, and mocha.

The flavours come in different protein levels, but you can adjust the dosage according to your needs. For example: if you need more calories, add more decks of protein powder.
  • Vanilla -27g
  • Chocolate-25g
  • Berry-24g
  • Mocha-24g
  • Natural -28g

Nutrition facts

One hundred calories in one scoop: 18 grams of protein, 2 g of carbohydrates (1 g of fibre, no sugar), and 2 g of fat (0.5 g of saturated fat, 1 g of polyunsaturated fat).

There is only information on a few minerals in terms of micronutrients: 15% of sodium RDI, 30% of iron, and 2% of calcium, and 5g of branched-chain amino acids.

Mixability

Sunwarrior protein powder dissolves well into liquids, and you don’t need a blender to mix it up. It’s similar to many other proteins on the market, so it isn’t an issue for most users. It has a higher than average amount of clumps in our experience, but nothing problematic.

Pros

  • Vegan
  • No added sugar
  • USDA Organic
  • Many flavours
  • Non-GMO verified
  • No gelatin, artificial preservatives, colours, or flavours added.
  • Contains 24-28g of protein

Cons

  • Different ingredients for different flavours
  • Some people may not like the taste.
  • You must mix it with oat milk or almond milk for maximum flavour

Price

When ordered through the official website, a 2.2-pound container with 47 servings costs $52.95. The price of one smoothie every day averages $1.12.

While this smoothie is reasonably priced, the lack of amino acids makes it ineffective as a complete meal replacement. Instead, users would have to supplement their amino acid intake with other whole meals.

How to consume it

Sunwarrior protein powder blends well into a protein shake. Take it either with breakfast or another meal, depending on your preferences and food allowance.

Does sunwarrior protein need to be refrigerated?
It doesn't taste great with only water so that you can add the powder into your favourite milk.

If you mix the vanilla or natural flavour into your homemade smoothies or favourite milk, you won’t even notice the taste because it’s very mild.

You can mix the chocolate flavour with bananas, strawberries, or other protein powders to get a nice chocolate flavour.

Customer reviews

Some customers don’t like the taste, but they offer suggestions on improving the taste if you’re willing to try some alternatives.

Others have tried it in protein bread, protein pancakes, and other recipes. If you use it according to the manufacturer's directions, you'll be fine.

Overall, most customers love the product, and it is rated as a four-star item.

Conclusion

No products found.

Sunwarrior protein powder is worth trying because of its versatility. Many people can’t afford to buy different protein powders for each meal, so this product would be ideal for saving money.

Sunwarrior Protein contains 15 g of brown rice protein and is made with natural ingredients. While this type of protein is simple to digest, it is deficient in some critical amino acids. The body needs certain amino acids to function correctly.
